Latvian Drunk
For those of you that don't know, I love reading the news that comes out of Russia and the former Soviet Union States. There always seems to be something incredibly amusing or very interesting that you just can't find in the MSM of the US. Hence the two stories that I posted yesterday or the following story for today:
A 50-year-old man was killed on a street near his home, near the city of Riga, after he struck was by a car. The unidentified man was found to have (now get this) a blood alcohol level of 17 times (yes, seventeen times) the legal driving amount, or roughly twice the LETHAL amount.
The man was still alive when he crossed the street, but was killed by a car that struck him. Investigators say that the accident will be shown as a traffic accident, but that the blood alcohol level was going to kill him soon anyway.
Where are you going to find a story like that? Only out of one of the poorest former Soviet States.
