Does Anyone Find This a Bit Scary?

Iran and Russia have agreed to terms regarding Iran's purchase of Russian tactical surface-to-air missiles.
In the deal Iran will receive 29 TOR-M1 systems designed to take down aircraft and low-flying guided missiles. This purchase is the biggest deal of Russian defensive hardware in about five years.
To recap, Russia is helping Iran build a nuclear facility for use as a "power plant". Israeli forces have claimed that they will order an air strike if the facility goes online. Iran purchases missile system designed to take out aircraft.
Somehow, I think that the Iranians are going to be producing more than power at the plant.

Adding to the fun, recall George W. Bush recently endorsed the idea that Russia handle nuclear fuel processing for Iran. The alleged idea is that this will keep Iran from developing its own uranium enrichment technology. But why won't this instead foster closer ties between Russia and Iran. If the idea is to build a Eusrasia bloc (Russia-China-Iran)that can oppose the west, this is a good step.

Charles - You have a point, in the idea of Eurasia bloc, but I don't think that it is very likely. It may have been a possiblility before the fall of the Soviet Union, but highly unlikely today.
